"Object of the Body" - Triad Stool
This three-legged stool features a sloped saddle seat that gently curves to conform to the human body, offering ergonomic comfort and sculptural elegance. The design draws direct inspiration from George Nakashima’s Mira Chair, embracing his philosophy of honoring natural material and handcrafted form. The stool’s structure employs three tapered mortise-and-tenon joints that pierce through the seat, showcasing both craftsmanship and structural integrity. The use of thermal hard maple highlights the natural grain and warmth of the wood while ensuring durability. Rooted in simplicity and honesty of construction, the piece embodies a balance between function, comfort, and refined artistry.
